![]() First off it's $95 for the full version of the game which is pretty insane for a new IP. Personally if I'm interested in a game I usually want to play it right away but even though I'm very interested in Forspoken I have zero desire to play it at launch. A lot of talk before release and after it you don't hear much about it. With a lot of AAA titles it's the other way round. At least half of the games I liked best in the last years were Indies anyway and those come usually out of the blue because they release and then everybody is talking about it because they're actually that good. Since then, I don't really care that much about upcoming AAA Releases anymore. Honestly, I got burned by the Cyberpunk release. I saw that the Remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2 should release this year, actually excited about that, I always play MP2 at least once a year for a playthrough. Diablo 4 would be right up my alley, but after what they did to WC3:Reforged I'm not exactly excited about giving them any money. There are some interesting titles like Atomic Heart and The day before, but they can also turn out bad, so I'm skeptical and waiting for reviews. I just looked through the list of games coming this year - not much for me this year. I think I never finished a Final Fantasy, FF15 didn't convince me either, I'm not impressed by Starfield from what I've seen, I didn't like BOTW and I'm not into Harry Potter (anymore, I read the books but then my interest took an end) Spiderman is great though, would be nice if that comes before Christmas. I mean, besides Spiderman, none of those games are that appealing to me. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban. Certainly programmers who come from other programming languages would not expect this behavior. ![]() I venture a guess that if a poll was made among MathWorker developers, the majority (if not vast majority) of them are not aware of this fine detail. In recent releases, Matlab increasingly relies on MCOS (Matlab’s latest OOP incarnation) for its internal codebase. But confusing? Counter-intuitive? Unexpected? – you bet! However, this does not happen in handle classes, so modifying Internal‘s property in one instance of External also affects the other instances. The reason is that Matlab’s built-in COW ( copy-on-write) mechanism ensures that we get a new copy of a value class whenever one of its properties is modified. This does not affect properties that are initialized to primitive (non-object) data, nor to value classes (as opposed to handle classes). So basically, all instances of External share the same Internal object! This same handle reference (memory pointer, in a broad sense) is used for all subsequent creations of External class instances. In other words, when Matlab first loads the External class code into memory (typically upon its first instance creation), it assigns the handle reference to a new Internal instance to the class property. MATLAB does not reevaluate the expression each time you create a class instance. The answer lies in the fine print of the documentation:Įvaluation of property default values occurs only when the value is first needed, and only once when MATLAB first initializes the class. > Internal.getDefault % this proves that the default Internal value remains unchanged (as expected)īasically, this shows that setting e1.MyValue.Value=1 has also affected future class constructions, such that e2=External (which should have created a new handle object with a default property value of 0) now returns the modified value 1. > e1 = e2 % this proves that e1~=e2 (as expected) getDefault % this proves that the default Internal value remains unchanged (as expected) ans = > e1 = e2 % this proves that e1~=e2 (as expected) ans = 0 e2 = External % This returns a bad value of 1 (should be 0!) ![]() Note that I like to show these connector pinouts in a wire side view, which shows how the pins are arranged looking at the back of the connector (from the wire and not terminal side). If any power pins are showing on either side of the connectors, the entire connector assembly is installed incorrectly, which can result in catastrophic failure for the motherboard and everything plugged into it at the time of power-up. A properly installed connector connects to and covers every motherboard power pin. You must take care, however, to make sure that no remaining unconnected motherboard pins exist between or on either side of the two connectors after you install them. Following the black-to-black rule keeps you safe. Because these connectors usually have a clasp that prevents them from being inserted backward on the pins on the motherboards, the major concern is getting the two connectors in the correct orientation side by side and also not missing a pin offset on either side. Silksong is probably one of the most anticipated games of recent years, and audiences will find it difficult to accept a sequel that is not at least as excellent and rich in content as its predecessor. There's no option to pre-order it, the game isn't out, and nothing exists to suggest that Team Cherry would release it in a broken or unfinished state. In just 2 weeks, Hollow Knight had sold 250,000 copies on Nintendo Switch alone, even though the game had already been out for 2 years on other platforms. I don't know what this has to do with the Silksong forums, though. A cult game enjoyed by a very wide range of gamers, from veterans to casual gamers. Hollow Knight has instantly become a classic. There is also one last element that should not be overlooked: the pressure on Team Cherry's shoulders. ![]() Add to this the fact that one of the members of Team Cherry is now a fatherIt's easy to see why it took so long to get to play Hollow Knight Silksong. In addition, the COVID 19 pandemic has certainly had an impact on everyone's working conditions. As a reminder, Team Cherry consists of only 3 peopleThis is in contrast to other projects of this scale, which usually have teams of several dozen developers. All the more so as the conditions are very particular. This change of scale naturally imposed a whole new development cycle for the developers and long years of waiting for the fans. And so, almost two years to the day after the release of Hollow Knight, they unveiled the first trailer for Silksong, a game based entirely around Hornet. They had already designed so many new enemies and bosses that the idea of create a sequel, rather than just additional contentbegan to germinate. Time passed and the developers' ambitions grew. The DLC was to allow the player to redo the whole of Hollow Knight, but in control of Hornet, the "rival" of the player's knight. This was one of the goals when Team Cherry launched a Kickstarter to fund the game. Hollow Knight Silksong was originally intended to be Hollow Knight DLC. Why hasn't Hollow Knight Silksong been released yet? We had no news on 24 February 2023, but all is not lost for the anniversary of the licence. Like Hollow Knight, Silksong is a side-scrolling action game, with some easy Dark Souls comparisons in punishing bosses, encounters, and death mechanics. Fans are therefore expecting the game to be released in February, preferably with an announcement on the 14th and a release date of 24th February 2023. The announcement of Silksong and its very first trailer have been unveiled 14 February 2019. The first Hollow Knight was released on 24 February 2017. ![]() The most common theory regarding the release of Silksong is that it was Valentine's Day. That said, we are of course not immune to delays and postponements, but since we have not had any further information or denials from the developers, there is no indication that plans have changed. ![]() As this presentation took place on 12 June 2022, this means that Silksong should be released before 12 June 2023, at the latest. ![]() Create a New Outlook Profile: If none of the above solutions work, you can try creating a new Outlook profile and see if the search works in the new profile.Go to File > Office Account > Update Options, and select "Update Now" to check for updates. ![]() ![]() For high drain devices such as remote control toys or digital cameras using a flash, a higher capacity standard NiMH rechargeable may be more suitable, as they will have more power over the first few days before the benefits of a stay-charged battery are applied. In practical terms, using stay-charged batteries for everyday devices (that don’t drain the batteries completely in a short period of time) means they will retain their power when not in use and so will be ready to use and not need recharging as often. By comparison, Stay-charged batteries have a low self-discharge rate of around 2-3% per month, therefore retaining their charge and remaining ready to use. This occurs when the internal chemical reactions reduce the stored charge of the battery even when the battery is not in use. Standard NiMH rechargeable batteries (those that do not have the Stay-Charged technology) will gradually lose their power over a period of weeks and months even when not in use (around 30% per month) in a process known as ‘self-discharge’. Stay-charged rechargeable batteries hold their charge much more effectively when not in use. RETURN TO TOP What does 'Stay-Charged' mean? However there would be no detrimental effect on the radio, and the majority of DAB radios will work well using rechargeable batteries without any problems. For example when using four or six batteries in series in some brands of DAB radio, the voltage difference between four alkaline batteries (4 x 1.5 volt = 6 volt total) and four rechargeable NiMH batteries (4 x 1.2 volt = 4.8 volt total) can lead to shorter battery lifespan. However there are some exceptions where the difference in voltage can cause poor performance. This means that in the vast majority of devices the voltage should not be an issue when replacing single-use batteries with rechargeable batteries. The major difference is that single-use batteries output 1.5 volts when first used and end below 1.0 volts, whilst rechargeable NiMH batteries maintain an average of 1.2 volts for most of the time. So throughout the time the batteries are used, single-use batteries’ average output is 1.2 volts, similar to that of rechargeable NiMH batteries. The exception being PP3 9 volt block size battery, and some specialist security batteries, which can be higher depending on the size and type of battery.Īs single-use batteries are consumed, the voltage reduces. Standard size single-use batteries usually have a nominal voltage of 1.5 volts whilst rechargeable batteries are 1.2 volts. RETURN TO TOP What is the difference in voltage between rechargeable batteries and single-use batteries? See the FAQ on voltage for more information. There may be some devices where rechargeable batteries may not be suitable, for example some brands of DAB radios where four or six batteries are used in series, and the voltage difference between NiMh rechargeable batteries and standard alkaline batteries can cause poor performance. The main benefits are that after the initial investment they will save you money as you can reuse those batteries hundreds of times and they have the added benefit of helping the environment by saving raw materials and avoiding the waste of single-use batteries which may eventually end up in land-fill. ![]() In most situations, nickel metal hydride (NiMH) batteries can replace (single-use) primary batteries, especially for high drain electronic devices.
